Charles Henry "Chuck" Riley, age 84, of New Albany Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He is now rejoicing with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted member of Graceland Baptist Church for many years, Chuck known for his unwavering faith and commitment to his community.
Born on January 6, 1940, in Carthage, Indiana, he was the son of George and Mazel (Leslie) Riley. Throughout his life, Chuck embraced the values instilled in him by his parents. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wendell and John.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Claire "Ann" (Frazer) Riley. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. He leaves behind his children, Ann Mary Ferguson (Dan), Charles Joseph Haggerty, and Melody O'Hara (Patrick), each of whom carries his legacy forward. His grandchildren, Joy Elizabeth and Sarah Ann Ferguson, C.J. Haggerty, and Connor Riley O'Hara, will always remember their grandfather as a pillar of strength and kindness. Additionally, Chuck is survived by his siblings, Ruby Wingfield, James Riley; and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m., followed by burial at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens.
