Charles Edward Rice

Charles Edward Rice, 77, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. Charlie was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked locally as an electrician his entire life. Charlie was a diehard IU Basketball fan and dearly loved his grandchildren.

He was born on September 14, 1945, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Lewis and Doris (Chandler) Rice. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Doty; brother, Wayne Rice; son-in-law, Tim Crowe; and grandson, Brandon Amy.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dianne Rice; daughter, Patty Crowe; daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Krow; sisters, Phyllis Rice and Margaret Diaz; brother, Lewis (Wanda) Rice; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Tunnel Hill Cemetery (Edwardsville).
