Charles J. "Jay" Reinert, Jr., 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
Jay was born on May 23, 1953 in Louisville to Charles, Sr and Sue Reinert. After graduating from Oldham County High School, he proudly served our country in the Air Force in south east Asia during the Vietnam era. He retired from Ford after over 20 years of service. Jay loved cooking, bourbon, hiking, boating and fishing. But most of all, he was a true patriot.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles J Reinert, Sr. and brother, Chris Reinert.
Jay is survived by his mother, Sue Reinert; daughter, Angela Grimes (Richard); granddaughters, Kaela and Abigail Grimes; siblings, Cindy Hall (Ron), Greg Reinert (Sandi), Pat Reinert (Leslie), Diana Wood (Steve), Tom Reinert (Andrea), and Nancy Porter (Dave); loving companion Cassie Frantz; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best canine friends, Lucy and Derby.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Pewee Valley, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Jay's memory be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306).
