Charles Ray Sanford

Charles R. Sanford, age 67, passed away to his Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Jewish/Kindred Healthcare. He was born May 3, 1946 to the late Plato and Katie Price Sanford. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis (nee Brumfield) L. Sanford; and his daughter Katie L. Cowles; two brothers, Amos Gordon and B.F. Sanford; two sisters, Elizabeth Grey (Meryln) and Anna Green (Edward); sister-in-law, Wanda Sanford.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Tina M. Sanford; three grandchildren, Kayla Cowles Lee (Daniel), Cambree Cowles and Charles C. Cowles; sisters, Shirley Martin (Kenneth), Carol Kustes (Dennis); and brother, Paul Sanford. He is also survived by a many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and doctors of Kindred Healthcare at 4-South for their loving care.

Funeral ceremony will be 11am Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial in Floyds Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday and after 9:30 am Tuesday until time of service.
