Charles Powell

Charles Ray Powell, aged 92, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Charles proudly served as a machinist in the U.S. Navy, embodying honor and courage throughout his time in service. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, relishing moments spent sailing, canoeing, and fishing. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his beloved wife.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Charles was the son of Charles and Emma Powell. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Powell.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Phyllis Powell, along with his daughter, Linda Powell, and his granddaughter, Amber (Brandon) Finley. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Jayden, Aaliyah, Elijah, and Isabella Finley. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for a vast circle of family and friends.
