Charles I. Parks, Jr.

Charles I. Parks Jr., 56, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. Charles enjoyed classic cars, dinosaurs, and country music; especially George Strait. He loved his 3 cats; Cinder, Keanu, and Sammie. He also enjoyed baseball. Some of his favorite teams to watch play were the Louisville Bats, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Above all, Charles was a devoted family man who loved his children and spending quality time together.

He was born on August 20, 1966, in New Albany, Indiana, to Charles and Yoshiko (Ebikawa) Parks. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles I. Parks, Sr. and mother, Yoshiko Ebikawa Ahart.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Becky Parks; son, David Parks; daughter, Katherine Parks; the mother of his children, Misty Leland; brother, Patrick (Misty) Parks; sister, Mayumi Jeffries; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Charles's memory be made to New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter (215 W Market St, New Albany, IN 47150) or another animal shelter of your choosing.
