Charles Richard Miller I, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Charles loved nature. He was an avid beekeeper and was, at one time, the official State Beekeeper of Indiana. Charles also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and socializing.
He was born on September 13, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Richard Miller and Faye (Johnson) Reschar. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Miller; and his brothers, JA and Clyde Miller and John and Bob Reschar.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles Miller II, Linda (Ron) Kramer, Susan (Charles) Bridges-Brewer, Carol (Ray) Sims, and Mark Miller; adopted daughter, Tiffany Miller; brother, Chris (Marsha) Reschar; sister, Jane (Ron) Sweeting; grandchildren, Charles Miller III, Derrick Bridges, Donald (Tabatha) Ridings, Dustin Ridings, Michael (Natalie) Ridings, Jessica (Ted) Leasor, Michelle (Ryan) Waiz, Kristin (John) Romeo, and Karen (Jason) McCue; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, Indiana.
