Charles McDonner Sr., passed away at 75 surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born March 7, 1949, to the late Orville & Wilma McDonner of Louisville, KY. Charlie was a lifelong artist and musician. After accepting Jesus Christ into his life in 1981, Charlie went on to use his music to share the word of The Lord. Charlie was a music minister at several churches for 25 years, sharing his testimony through songs that he wrote, inspired by his life and family. Charlie was a talented artist that loved to paint landscapes that showcased how he viewed the world. Anytime Charlie would see something that he liked he would tell us, "It's a Beautiful Thing", and that saying perfectly described how he viewed his life and walk with our Lord God. Charlie always strived to see the best in every situation, often declaring, "It won't be as long as it has been" to let us know that everything in life is only temporary, and that we can make it to the other side of any difficult times. Charlie was a salesman in every sense of the word. He ended his career, retiring from Wayne Supply Co. as an Agricultural Equipment Salesman in 2020.
Charlie found the love of his life Patricia "Patty" McDonner (Heil) just after high school and they were married for 55 years, having three children: Charles McDonner Jr., Chad McDonner, and Katie Schamel (McDonner).
Charlie was preceded in death by; his parents, Orville & Wilma McDonner; and sister, Barbara Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Patty McDonner; sons, Charles (Kelly) McDonner Jr. and Chad McDonner; daughter, Katie (Brent) Schamel; 8 grandchildren; and siblings, Orville "Ray" (Judy) McDonner and Orvilla (Lynn) Yerdon.
