Charles Homer Carlile

Charles Homer "Charlie" Carlile, age 67 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. He graduated from Scottsburg High School, Scottsburg, Indiana in 1965 and went on to graduate from Peabody College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Charlie was a Direct Care Counselor with Sunrise Children's Services, formerly Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children. He was a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church. He was a former trombone player, was fond of big band music and was a former member of the UofL Pep Band. He most enjoyed the time he spent with his wife and family. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Homer "Pete" and Corinne Rhode Carlile; and his son, Patrick Christopher Carlile.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Angela Cartee Carlile; children, Melissa Cartee and Andrea Heick; grandchildren, Christian Olds, Draven Cartee, Halo Read, Madison Heick, Tyler Heick and Terrell Heick; sister, Janie Beckham (Donnie); nieces, Stacey McIntosh and Kim Meier (Samm); many nephews and nieces in South Carolina; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 11am Friday, March 13, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
