Charles Fred Gregory, 90, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday,
October 2, 2022. Charles was born November 7, 1931, to the late
Tilman and Cora Gregory in Somerset, Kentucky. He was the
husband of Kathleen Gregory.
He graduated from Somerset High School and went on to serve our
country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. After
returning home, he attended the University of Kentucky for his
undergraduate degree and the University of Tennessee for this
Masters degree. He worked his entire career for Brown and
Williamson. After retiring, he volunteered at Baptist Hospital East.
Charles loved and cherished his wife, his children, and grandchildren.
He also loved music, golf, a good joke, reading, learning, gardening,
Gram's chocolate cake, UK Cats (although was conflicted when they
played UT), serving in his church, and most importantly, Jesus.
Surviving Charles is his devoted wife of 66 years, Kathleen Gregory of
Columbia; son Charles (Benita) of Louisville; daughter Lisa (Kevin) of
Nashville, TN; brothers Tommy (Diane) Gregory of Lexington, and
Robert (Elizabeth) Gregory of California; his grandchildren Emily
Gabhart, Michael (Madi) Gabhart, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his brothers
and sisters; Paul Gregory, Mary Belle Ping, Betty Lou Robinson,
Alfred Gregory, George Gregory, Janice Hollis, Johnny Gregory, and
Gerald Gregory.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at
Woodland Church, 809 N Pope Lick Rd, Louisville, KY with a
celebration honoring the life of Charles immediately following
visitation at 2:00 p.m.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of
