Charles Edward "Chub" Cousins, Sr., 66, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence. He was retired from Pillsbury General Mills Plant in New Albany with over 35 years of service. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 28. Charles was also past Exalted Ruler of Hoosier Council No.44 and a past member of the Thomas English Elks Club. He was baptized at the Jefferson Gardens 1st Baptist Church in New Albany. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Charles was born on July 10, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eilla V. (Wilson) Cousins; mother, Catherine Louise (Duncan) Cousins; step-mother, Doris M. Cousins; daughter, Kimberly Cousins and brother, Edward E. Cousins. Charles is survived by his father, John Edward Cousins, Sr.; children; Catherine, Coreen, Karen, Christine and Charles, Jr. Cousins all from New Albany; brothers, John, Raymond and Victor Cousins; sisters, Edwina Ellis, Theresa Cousins and Alice Pace; grandchildren, Andra'es, Kimberr, and Eilla Cousins, Elaia and Shanielle Moore and Kendrick Rhodes; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) and after 11 AM on Thursday at Jones Memorial AME Zion Church in New Albany.
His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the church with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany.
