Charles Edward Davis Sr., 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a great story teller and an amazing cook. He retired from the Louisville Metro Housing Authority after 30 years of dedication. He always loved spending time with his large family.

He was born on August 17, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Maggie (Thompson) Davis. He is preceded in death by his Father, James Davis, Mother, Maggie Lee Davis, Son, Charles Edward Davis, Jr.; Sister, Mary Emma Holt, Brothers, Alexander Holt, Jr., Richard Holt, and Philip McAtee.

Charles is survived by his loving Wife of 13 years, Melissa Davis but in love for 30; Sons, Troy (Gina) Davis and Bryan Davis; Grandsons, Troy Davis, Jr. and Terrell Davis; Siblings, Barbara Jean (Herbert) James, June Alice (Bubba) Nathaniel, Christine (Ulysses) Sneed, Vernita Rose (Bobby) Johnson, Michael (Marcella) Holt, Eva Glenn, Betty McAtee, and Leonard McAtee, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, great-great-nieces & nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and His Home Going Service will be at 1:00 pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
