Charles M. Brooks, 74, of Louisville, passed away May 1, 2014.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bessie Short Brooks of Hardyville, KY; 3 brothers, Jim, Ralph and Paul Brooks; 8 sisters, 3 in infancy plus Aileen Hale, Ida Fletcher, Thelma Surgener, Pauline Sparks and Magdalene Brooks.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Coomer Brooks; Daughter, Kimberly Hundley (Robin); Son, Dennis Brooks (Lori); 6 grandchildren; Collin Hundley (Raina), Jordan Cox (McKenzie), Kayli Brooks, Connor Brooks, Collier Brooks and Colson Brooks; and a host of family and friends.
Charles was a Navy Veteran. He then began a career as a Banker at Citizens Fidelity/PNC. He was a member of Westport Road Church of Christ. Charles was a loving, and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved life. He was a huge sports enthusiast. He was also a big Kentucky Wildcats fan.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 235 Juneau Dr. Louisville, KY 40243. Funeral Ceremony will be on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery in Horse Cave, KY.
