Charles Brinley, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
He was born on December 28, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Cleedia (Goodlet) Brinley. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ella Lee Weber, brother in-law, Johnny Weber, and his grandson, Michael Timothy Sims.
Charles retired from General Electric in 1976. He will always be remembered for being a devoted and caring husband, daddy and friend. He was a friend to all and to know him was to absolutely love him. Charles had a smile that would light up a room, and adored his wife. He was the definition of a "Girl Dad"; loving his three girls! Family was everything to Charles; seen through the love he has for his brother and his grandchildren and great grandchildren, that gave him so much laughter and joy.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Carolyn Brinley, daughters, Melissa (Jamie) Logsdon, Melody (Tim) Sims, and Michele (Ron) Turner, grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Richards, Jessica (Aaron) Vaughn, Kaylyn (Brandon) Cardwell, Jeremy Sims, Sam (Morgan) Sims, Michael (Bri) Turner and Grace (Jared) DeNeen, great grandchildren, Holly Kendall, Brinley, Emelia, Hudson, Rylee, Michael, Kaydee, and Lynnlee, along with his brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Brinley.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
