Donald C. "Doobie" Brafford, 66, of Irvington, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014. Donnie served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U. S. Army. In his career as a truck driver, he retired from Ashland Oil Company and later owned Brafford Trucking with his trucks leased to Usher Transport.
Donnie was born on August 30, 1947 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Charles E. and Opal D. (Helton) Brafford.
He leaves behind his wife, Jackie (Tucker) Brafford; son, Jason Goben (Nicky); grandchildren, Amber, Dess, Paul Michael, and Jade; great grandson, Hunter; sister, Alicia McKown (Michael); nephew, Jamie McKown (Leigh Anne); nieces, Krista Jenkins (Dr. Chris), and Karla Goins (Tom); and many great nieces and nephews. Extended family includes Matt Butler (Amy); grandchildren, Patton, Dessie, and Skyler; special friend and brother, Michael Farmer, who helped care for him.
Burial will be private. A celebration of his life with his friends will be scheduled at a later date.
