Charles A. Bradley, Sr., 75, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on September 12, 2023.
He was born in Ashdown, Arkansas and was the son of the late Claude Bradley, Sr. and Ocie Reed Bradley. Charles professed a hope in Christ at an early age and grew up in the Methodist faith. He was a member of Muir Chapel in Eastwood, Kentucky. He graduated from Montclair Elementary School and continued his education by obtaining his high school diploma from Lincoln Institute in Lincoln Ridge, Ky. in 1966. He furthered his education by receiving his undergraduate degree from Lane College and Western Kentucky University. He was an educator for 25 years after which he worked as an Environmental Specialist for Eagle Steel & Metal Products for 26 years.
Charles was an avid UofL basketball fan and still rooted for his Alma Mater, Lane College's football team. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
He was married to Joan Warren Bradley for over 50 years. To this union they have two children, Charles A. Bradley, II and Cherie Bradley-Ferman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Claude Bradley, Jr. and sister Mary Mahin.
Survivors include his wife, Joan W. Bradley, son, Charles A. Bradley II (Stacey), daughter, Cherie Bradley-Ferman; grandchildren, Erica and Charles A. Bradley III, Eric II, Aaron, Aaliyah, and Brianna Ferman. Sisters-in-law Vivian Overall, Barbara Whyte, and Jennifer Tinsley (Gregory) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A service to celebrate Mr. Bradley's life will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Canaan Christian Church (2840 Hikes Ln, Louisville, KY 40218) with burial following at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the service time at church.
