Charles B. "Charlie" Deatrick, 64, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. He was a former employee of International Harvester and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany.
Charles was born on October 4, 1947 in Elizabeth, Indiana to the late Clarence and Mary Frances (Cable) Deatrick. He was also preceded in death by his son, Chuck Deatrick.
He is survived by his children, Ellen Huber, Edward Deatrick, both of New Albany, Ann Smith (Troy) of Henryville, Paul Deatrick (Mandy) of New Albany; siblings, Ronald Deatrick (Sherri), Juanita Krogh (Les), Patricia Grismore (Jerry), Elizabeth Richardson (Martin), Theresa King (Charlie), Janice Lind (Darrell); grandchildren, Nathan and Jenna Deatrick, and Maggie Huber.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. Eighth Street, New Albany) with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions in Charles's memory may be made to Hosparus – the Hospice Community of Southern Indiana.
