Charlene Rose Bickel

January 17, 1962 — October 12, 2024

Charlene Rosa Bickel, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on October 12, 2024, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky after a lifelong battle with mental illness. Born on January 17, 1962, Charlene’s journey through life was marked by her deep love for her family, most especially her daughters and grandchildren. Charlene graduated from high school and spent many years cultivating relationships with those around her. She was a nurturing presence in the lives of her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Harley Quinn Bachmann, along with grandsons Andrew Bachmann and Ian Draewell, meant the world to her. She cherished every moment spent with Harley in her room doing makeup. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her family; she was a compassionate person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. In her leisure time, Charlene found joy in the company of her grand cats and spent wonderful times with friends, especially Randy and Don. Her love was evident in the many ways she connected with people, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Charlene now joins her late husband, Steven Danard Bickel; twin sister, Marlene Rose Cornett; and her parents, William and Sarah Cornett; along with her siblings, Sara Cornett and Bob Cornett, and Patricia Cornett in eternal rest.

Charlene is survived by her daughters, Danielle Bachmann (Eric) and Jessica Draewell (Chase); as well as her grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward in their lives.

The legacy Charlene leaves behind is one of love. Her daughters choose not to focus on her struggles with mental illness but to raise awareness and let you know that you are never alone. Seek help. Show kindness and understanding. Be open and most importantly, listen. To see and hear without judgement, if only to save one family from the pain of losing a loved one through bringing awareness to this tragic loss.

Good night, God bless you and we love you Mama Joe XO.
