Chandler Phelps

Chandler C. Phelps, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on October 31, 2024 He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and friend, known for his unwavering love for his family. Chandler dedicated 36 years of his life to American Standard enjoying a well-deserved retirement. He had an infectious spirit and a passion for attending family sporting events, ensuring he was always present to support his loved ones. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting Churchill Downs, where he enjoyed betting on the ponies.

Born on March 6, 1936, in Carrollton, Kentucky, Chandler was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Geraldine Phelps; his son, Jesse Leon Phelps; as well as four brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his cherished family, including his sons: James "Jimmy" (Judy) Phelps, John (Frances) Phelps, Justin (Jenny) Phelps, and Jason (Lori) Phelps. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Chris (Amber) Phelps, Greg (Madison) Phelps, Austin Phelps, Jeremy (Amber) Minor, and Kimberly House; and his great-grandchildren: Clara Phelps, Cassius Phelps, Kayeleigh Eades, Morgan Eades, Alivia Eades, Ryelynn Minor, and Lukas Minor. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 11, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

In honor of Chandler's memory, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
