Cecilia Lynn Gies

Cecilia "Lynn" Gies was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 75 years of life. She passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on Monday, April 1st surrounded by her loved ones in prayer.

Originally from Orleans, Indiana, Lynn was born September 17, 1948 and is survived by her husband Andrew Gies, son Brad Hudson and daughters Allison (David) Schnell, Amye (Jason) Meyer, Amanda (Tyson) Gies, Andrea (Keith) Denton, and Laura (John) Conard, grandchildren Alex, Avery (Tabitha), DJ (Lexi), Tori (Drew), Savannah, Valentina, Cole, Emily, Annabelle, Lily, Molly, Alayna, two great granddaughters Cecelia and Quinn, brothers Bill (Brenda), Dennis (Vickie) Johnson and Guy Wayne Johnson.

Lynn was known for her steadfast faith in Christ, her style, humor, willingness to help whenever she was needed at a moment's notice for anyone who needed her and mostly her love and dedication for her family. Being Nana and Grandma was one of her greatest joys in life.

Lynn happily served for years in many capacities in her church. She left a legacy to her family and loved ones of God's amazing love and grace, and was an example to all her knew her. We look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Wanda and Cecil Johnson and brother Mike.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 4-8pm at Newcomer Southwest with services on Friday, April 5th at 1pm at Shawnee Baptist Church (visitation from 12-1) with burial following at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
