Catherine W. Mayes, age 99 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012. Catherine was born September 13, 1913 in Louisville to the late John and Rebecca Saunders. Catherine was a beautician, attended Carnegie Institute School of Practical Nurses, and ended her career with CareTenders in Louisville.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by husband, John Mayes.
Catherine is survived by nieces and nephews, James Shirley Dickerson, Catherine Stallard, William Saunders Dickerson (Helen), Darlene S. Powell (Ronald), Betty Wilson (Charles), Rosetta Dickerson Robinson, Mary Mattingly (Jerome); and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00pm Thursday, December 12, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY with visitation from 10:00am until time of service.
