Catherine Kruer

Catherine M. (Miller) Kruer, 96, of Starlight, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Catherine was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend who leaves a legacy of devotion to her faith, family, and community. Her smiling face, gentle demeanor, and country cooking will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Catherine was born on February 16, 1916 in Clark County, Indiana to the late Louis B. and Anna M. (Yochem) Miller. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Kruer; daughter, Margaret Schindler; son, Kenneth Kruer; grandchildren, Timothy and Katrina Kruer; and sisters, Irene and Marie Miller and Rita Geraghty.

She is survived by her sons, Melvin (Diana), Norbert (Joni), Alfred (Paulette), Michael (June), and Richard Kruer; daughters, Thelma Bostock (Larry), Jeanette Williams (Bob), Arlene Bertrand (Jim), and Joyce Eyerly (Mike); sisters, Marcella Weikel, and Dolores Popp; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12 to 8 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at 4 PM Wednesday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
