Catherine Jantzen

Catherine Sue (Snoddy) Jantzen, 60, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Cathy was a member of the auxiliaries of American Legion Post 28 and VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693.

Cathy was born on August 3, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Edward L. Snoddy and the late Phyllis L. (Fawbush) Snoddy. She was also preceded in death by her son, Melvin L. Jantzen.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Melvin W. Jantzen; daughters, Hope A. Jantzen-Williams and her husband, Michael of Georgetown, Indiana and Jennifer M. Jantzen-Fields and her husband, Brian of New Albany; daughter-in-law, Shannon L. Jantzen of Memphis, Indiana; sister, Mary Nell Snoddy of Louisville; and five grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150) followed by the Funeral Service at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hosparus Inpatient Facility (315 East Broadway, Sixth Floor, Louisville, KY 40202-3700).
