Carolyn Ann Ormerod (nee Roberts) 91, passed away to our heavenly Father on the evening of March 25, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn lived a long and happy life with friends and family. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky and attended Mercy Academy. She was a career beautician with Bacons. Carolyn was a devoted mother to her two sons, Marvin Jr. and Stephen. She was a kind and generous person who loved her children and grandchildren, especially her grand babies. She taught her family the importance of following God and the importance of forgiveness. She loved us with everything she had. Her last words to her family were, "I love you all".
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth (Bessie) Steed, her father, Ruben James Roberts, her step-father, James I. Steed and brother, Joseph (Jack) Roberts (Alma).
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 65 + years, Marvin Sr.; her brother James R. Steed, her sons Marvin Jr. (Diane deceased 2021) and Stephen Ormerod (Joyce); grandchildren, Cristel Domizio (Jason), Caitie Winn (Jimmy), Melanie Ormerod, Sara Gee (Chris), Laura Brandt (Ryan), Emily Cross (Chris); and great-grandchildren Cassie Winn, Brady Gee, Ellie Domizio, Evelyn Brandt, and Aliya Brandt.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in the chapel at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Pewee Valley on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:00 am. Internment to immediately follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, IN.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Melisa Rayburn, her caregiver; as well as the entire staff at Interim Healthcare Hospice, especially Sara Caldwell RN, for their loving and compassionate care throughout Carolyn's illness.
