Carolyn F. (Stevenson) Jewell

Carolyn Frances "Carol" (Stevenson) Jewell, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Carol loved flowers, gardening, and shopping. She enjoyed being around animals and feeding any critter in the neighborhood, including the opossums and raccoons. Out of all her pastimes, her favorite of all was spending time with her family.

She was born on May 27, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Almer and Agnes (Elder) Stevenson. Along with her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her siblings, Gladys Foster, Katie Sneed, and Clarence Stevenson.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donnie Jewell; children, Timmie Jewell and Lisa (Max) Mitchell; grandchildren, Krista (Mark) Shoaf, Katie (Andy) Cottner, Robert (Kristy) Watts, Jon Jewell, and Kara Jewell; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve Stevenson, Vicki Sampson, and Judy Glass; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Carol's wishes.

The family requests that contributions in Carol's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
