Carolyn Marie (Miller) Hacker, 77, a loving wife, mother, grandma and sister, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. An active and patriotic member of her community, Carolyn served on the Carr Township Board and was a member of First Christian Church in Borden. Carolyn believed in living a holistic life that was centered around faith and exercise. She had enjoyed traveling the world and previously had served as an advocate for M.A.D.D.
She was born on April 11, 1947 to John, Sr. and Doris (Partchey) Miller. Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandson, Hank Hacker.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Hacker, Sr.; children, Willie Hacker, J.D. Hacker (April), Jeri Mathis (Austin); grandchildren, Zac, Jane Hacker, Charli, Walker Mathis; and siblings, Judy Wheeler (Jim), Barb Trego (John) and Johnny Miller.
Carolyn's wish was to be cremated and a gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at First Christian Church (1532 E. Water Street, Borden, IN 47106) and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. She will be laid to rest privately at Macon County Memorial Park in Decatur, Illinois.
