Carolyn Cavins, 86, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society New Albany Chapter. Carolyn enjoyed bowling, quilting, cards, dominoes, bunco, and most importantly spending time with her family.
She was born on February 17, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Leo and Alice (App) Wrighthouse. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cavins; sister, Geraldine Miller; and brother, Leo Wrighthouse, Jr.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Dena (Jeff) Anderson, Derrick (Sharon) Davis, Sherry (Mark) Vaughn, Phillip Davis, Melissa (Rick) Eckmann, Scott (Nina Cahill) Davis, and Chris (Heather) Davis; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sibling, Maureen, Aggie, and Janet; sister in law, Jewell Wrighthouse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). A private burial will be at a later date.
The family requests that contributions in Carolyn's memory be made to Providence House.
