Carolyn Burgess

Carolyn Louise Burgess, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, Went home to her Lord and her sons on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Carolyn is the most loving, forgiving, devoted, and hardworking woman that God ever put on this earth. She spent all of her time living up to the needs of her family. She would do anything and everything for anyone who needed it without hesitation and wont complain about it one bit. She is an amazing grandmother, great-grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and friend to anyone in need no matter what. She loved endlessly and tirelessly until her last breath.

She was born on November 12, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Anna (Burkhead) Compton. She is preceded in death by her Father, Charles Harris Compton, Mother, Anna Catherine Covington, Sons, William Edward Snawder, William Earl Snawder, Jr., Sister, and Maxie Ruth Wyatt.

Carolyn is survived by her loving family, Husband, David Lynn Burgess; Sons, Kevin Ray Allen, Bo Snawder and Kenneth Reynolds; Bonus Daughter, Renee Berry; Grandchildren, William Earl Lee (Shelby) Snawder, Destiny (Samirah) Berry, Jessica Allen, Codie Allen, Olivia Monday, Emma Snawder and Jadin Monday; Great-Grandchildren, Reagan Pryor, Branden Allen, Mikayla Allen and Isaiah Miles; Siblings, George Clifton Compton, Rebecca Ann (Alvin) Macklin, Marian Helen Kennedy and Bruce Wayne (Wanda) Sands, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Home Going Service will be at 6:00 pm on Sunday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with Cremation to follow.

The family requests that contributions in Carolyn's memory be made to American Cancer Society.
