Carole Janette Striegel

Carole Janette Striegel, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on October 16, 1940, in Borden, Indiana, Carole's life was filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.

Carole was a strong woman whose spirit shone brightly throughout her life. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, embracing each moment with warmth and encouragement. She is survived by her devoted children, Teresa (John) Engleman, Kevin (Deena) Striegel, Samuel (Monica) Striegel, Jonathon Striegel, and Angela Harshey. Her family blossomed under her loving guidance, which is reflected in the lives of her 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Among them was her granddaughter and caretaker, Amanda Hunter.

Carole's heart, however, carried sadness from the loss of those she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David L. Striegel, whose absence created an emptiness that could never be filled. She also mourned the loss of her daughters, Cathy Jacobs and Cynthia Renee Griffee. In addition, she is reunited in spirit with her parents, Roy Potts and Mary Frances Potts; and her sisters, Joann Board and Susie Atkins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home with entombment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
