Carole Diana Rutledge (née Goeing), of Louisville, Kentucky, died on July 22, 2022, of natural causes. Born on March 3, 1944, she was 78 years of age at the time of her death. Carole grew up in the Germantown area of Louisville and was a proud graduate of DuPont Manual High School, class of 1962. Among her many interests were music and dancing, arts and crafts, animals, gardening, cooking (always trying new recipes), her hometown, and especially Louisville Cardinal basketball. She even enjoyed a brief stint as a drag racer, with a notable victory over Drag Racing Hall of Famer Shirley Shahan in 1966! Professionally, she worked for several decades as an Office Manager in the field of orthopedic surgery.
Carole was a beautiful, supportive, talented, and proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family with all her heart and not a day went by that she did not assure them of her love. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and nothing made her happier than to have her entire family gathered whenever possible.
Carole is survived by her husband of 43 years, David B. Rutledge; her children, Kurt Sanders (Anna), Andrea Bergstom (Eddie), Kelly Dillman (Matt), Vanessa Rutledge, and Stacy Vaughn (Kenny); and her grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Abbie, Tyler, Mia, Luke, Ian, and Natalie; and a host of family and friends.
