Carol Selena Patterson, 61, of Louisville, KY, was called home by God on March 4, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol Selena Patterson was born to Zachary Patterson and Doris Owens on November 7, 1956.
She was known to her family as Selena. Carol grew up on a farm in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was proud of her country roots where she enjoyed walking barefoot and learned to drive on a John Deere Tractor. Carol graduated from Jeffersonville High School and attended college for a brief period before joining the workforce which culminated in 2007 at UPS.
Carol was a faithful and loyal daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was an avid reader, intense letter writer, collector of coffee mugs and a lover of history especially African American History. She lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Carol volunteered in various organizations including Kentucky African Americans against Cancer (KYAAC), Trust for Life Organ Donor Awareness Program, and Moving Forward Limb Loss Support Group.
She leaves behind her sister Claudette White, nieces, nephew, the loves of her life, great nieces and nephew, cousins and a host of friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Newcomer, Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), with a celebration of Carol Selena's life to start at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
