Carlus McKinley Hays went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2013. He lived every day of his life in service to Jesus Christ. Never has there been a more loving, caring, compassionate, spirit-filled husband, father, grandfather, brother or friend. He was loved and respected by all those who knew him, and he will be missed by everyone who was a part of his life.
Carlus retired after thirty-five years at LG&E. After retirement, he assisted in Customer Service at Town and Country Ford and then was an associate at Newcomer Funeral Home. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and a member of Lifeline Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his world-class senior softball team, and serving anyone along the way who needed a helping hand.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of fifty-nine years, Artie Hays, children: Katrina Clark (Steve), Kim Littlefield (Stacey), Kamron Hays (Tish), grandchildren: Kayla Hawkins, Kyle Hawkins, Jonathan Clark, Brandon Clark, Stephanie Tillman (Shaughn), Asher Littlefield, Micah Littlefield, Rachelle Littlefield, Brady Hays, Rachael Hays, Lauren Hays, and Daniel Hays, great grandchildren: Abel Tillman, Adia Clark, siblings: Nova Rhodes, Iva Barratt, Inis Smith (William Dean) and Betty Steff (R.L.)and a brother, John Hays .
