Carletta Owens

Carletta Owens, 79, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Carletta was a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteering to help kids in need. She was a member of St Ignatius Catholic Church. Carletta enjoyed taking care of people. She was a loving and devoted, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend to so many. Carletta was the caretaker of the family and was always helping those in need. She enjoyed being in the outdoors, taking walks, and sitting on her patio, and taking caring of her pond of Koi fish. Carletta retired from Brown & Williams Tabacco Company with 32 years of service. Carletta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was born on September 14, 1942 in Louisville, KY to Carl and Georgia (McCroskey) Fitzgerald. She is preceded in death by her Parents, "Pops" Fitzgerald, and Momma Daisy.

Carletta is survived by her Son, Ricky Owens, Steven (Tolanda) Owens, and Terrance Owens, Grandchildren, Chance Owens, Stephon Owens, and Jade Owens, Daughter in love, Victoria Owens, Brothers, Albert (Vickie) Smith, and Hollis Smith. Carletta also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home -Southwest Chapel. Burial will be held at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
