Carla Kay (Hardin) Lewis

Carla Kay (Hardin) Lewis, 62, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. She loved her family dearly and adored her grandchildren. Carla enjoyed collecting antiques and was also an animal lover that was very fond of her dog, Dakota.

She was born on June 19, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana, to Vonda (Schroeder) Hardin and the late Bill Hardin. In addition to her father, Carla was preceded in death by her fiancé, Frank Bush.

Along with her mother, Carla is survived by her children, Amy Niemeier (Art) and Cody Hurst; grandchildren, Alton and Austen; sisters, Karen Hennessey (Dale) and Cheryl Young (Dwayne); and many nieces and nephews.

Carla's wish was to be cremated, and a reception of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. Her memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial will follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church Cemetery.
