Carl J. Sowers, Sr.

Carl J. Sowers, Sr, age 79 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born March 21, 1934 to the late Bernard and Anna Wax Sowers. He was an Army Veteran and an avid poker player. He was a former employee of Resthaven Memorial Park and retired from Ratterman Funeral Home in Buechel. He was a Mason and a Shriner. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his siblings, Ernest L. Sowers and Sandy Culver.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, LuAnn Cummings Sowers; sons, Carl J. Sowers, Jr (Cynthia) and Eddie Carnes (Marie); grandchildren, Carla and her fiance' Adam Yonts, Dustin Sowers (Ashley) and Jason Carnes (Missy); great-grandchildren, Weston Sowers, Jack and Emily Carnes; siblings, Anneta Howard, Burl Sowers (Margaret) and Marsha Roll (Jerry); and also a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive from 4 - 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice in Carl's name.
