Carl Herman Zwanzig, 60, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a professional painter for over 40 years. He was a dedicated volunteer firefighter at Lake Dreamland Fire Department and retired as lieutenant after 23 years. He loved fishing and singing. He also was a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Glenn Zwanzig, Sr. and a grandson Dylan Petersen
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Ann Zwanzig; children, Carl Zwanzig, Jr., Lisa Brandon both of Beaver Dam; Donald Cox, Louisville, KY, Anthony Zwanzig, Stanford, Il, Brandy Petersen, Stanford, IL, and Nancy Cox; mother, Mildred Zwanzig; 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Glenn of Louisville, KY, Philip of Louisville, KY, Bryan of Virginia, and Darrell Zwanzig of Louisville, KY. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 1pm-6pm with services being at 6pm.
