Carl Berry, Jr.

Carl Berry, Jr., age 77 of Pewee Valley, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his home. Carl was born on April 3, 1935 to Thelma and Carl Berry, Sr. in Pewee Valley, KY. He was a professional carpenter and spent his career as a general contractor in the Louisville and surrounding areas. Carl retired from the Oldham County Board of Education. He was baptized at the age of eleven and was a strong believer in the words of Christ. Carl was a member of First Baptist Church of Anchorage. He was a passionate Louisville Cardinals fan, a devout husband, father, granddad, friend, and outstanding member of the community. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of over forty years, Alice Berry; sons Albert and Craig Berry; and sister, Anne Clark.

Carl is survived by his wife, Deana; brother, Lawrence Berry (Theresa); sisters, Louise Bonner (Bobby) and Mary Berry; son, Donnie Berry; daughter, Gloria Berry; daughter-in-law, Beverly Berry; grandchildren, Chris Berry (Amanda), Latisha Evans, Faith Green (I'Ron), Kevin, Maria, and Albert Petty, Laura Allen (Rod), Eric Berry, Brittney and Allyson Purcell, Trenton Silva; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Amazing Grace Community of Faith, 7400 Floydsburg Road, Crestwood, KY, with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm.
