Byron K. Thompson

Byron K. Thompson, 71, of Fisherville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Byron was born on November 7, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John K. and Garnet Looney Thompson. He was a gifted and patient instructor of math and science at Louisville Technical Institute, Sullivan College, and Christian Academy of Louisville. He was a member, deacon, and dedicated Sunday School teacher at Simpsonville Baptist Church. In addition to studying the Bible, Byron enjoyed woodworking, perfecting recipes, exploring the back roads of Appalachia with his wife, and spending as much time with his family and grandkids as possible.

Byron is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Hope Thompson; sons, Matthew K (Alisha) Thompson, and J. Andrew (Ashleigh) Thompson; daughter, Emilee H (Richard, III) Buquet; sister, Sheila (Greg) Hassig; nephew, Johnny Hassig; aunt, Martha Mash; and grandchildren, Noah Thompson, Titus Thompson, Silas Thompson, Levi Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, Austin Thompson, Abram Thompson, Ava Thompson, Clementine Buquet, Mirabelle Buquet and Richard Buquet, IV.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (235 Juneau Drive). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Simpsonville Masonic Cemetery in Simpsonville, KY.
