Burrell T. Smith, 80, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on November 20, 2011. He retired from Big T Transfer and was a former member of Wesley Chapel UMC. Burrell was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed working with miniature trains.

Burrell was born on June 27, 1931 in New Albany to the late Burrell J. and Evelyn Ruth (Hollis) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruthie Smith, and son-in-law, Bruce Saylor.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris M. (Ferguson) Smith; children, Dianna Saylor, David Smith, Donna Farris (James), Denise McCormick (James), Dawn Smith (Billy); brother, Kenneth Smith (Sue); 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Memorial Service will be at 10 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with private burial to take place at Edwardsville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Building Fund.
