Bruce James Weidner

Bruce James Weidner, 83, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022. Bruce was a devoted father, brother, and husband. He was active at his home parish and with the Mount St. Francis Alumni Association. Before starting a family, Bruce served as a Franciscan Friar, having celebrated vows in 1961 and ordained in 1965. He graduated from Mount St. Francis Minor Seminary, Assumption Seminary of Chaska, Minnesota, the University of Dayton, and Spalding University.

He was born on October 12, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Leonard and Clara (Hutt) Weidner.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pat (O'Leary) Weidner; daughters, Sarah (Tim) Weidner-House and Meghan (Steven) Richard; and sisters, Rose Mary (Ron) Miller and Patricia (L. Ron) Rury.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 N. Sherwood Ave, Clarksville) with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery (East 8th Street, Jeffersonville).
