Bruce Speedy

Bruce "Wayne" Speedy, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband and father. Wayne graduated from Fairdale High School in 1974. He then completed a 4 year apprenticeship in tool making. Wayne attended Purdue University and graduated with an associate in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1986 and furthered his education at Bellarmine University where he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Business. He had a love of learning, a love of education, and a passion for teaching. Wayne was an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech. He enjoyed telling stories and told a story at any opportunity he had. Wayne was a very faithful man in his beliefs and in his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on May 14, 1956 in Lanesville, Indiana to Bruce and Helene Speedy. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Irene Speedy; parents, Bruce and Helene Speedy; and sister, Tammy Jo Speedy.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sarah Speedy; daughter, Rebecca Speedy; brothers, Clifford (Carrie) Speedy, Glenn Speedy, Jeffery Speedy; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.

The family requests that contributions in Wayne's memory be made to The Snow Leopard Conservancy.
