Bruce "Dale" Coogle, age 62 of Louisville, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022.
He worked for several years as a pest control technician, until health issues forced him into early retirement. When his mobility became limited, he found solace in watching the old TV westerns, reality shows like Moonshiners or monitoring nearby neighborhood activity on his home security cameras. Dale was a relatively private person, but was very vocal about his love for his devoted wife Martha, and his children. In addition to Martha's constant care, he had a circle of close family and friends who worked together to see that the quality of his life was the best it could be: his brother Richard, who regularly called and visited, his childhood friend Steve Jackman, who routinely brought food and provided great company and conversation, and his sister-in-law Debbie, always willing to help her sister Martha, just to name a few. In his spare time he could be found repairing cars, playing bingo or buying lottery tickets. He also enjoyed perusing flea markets and yard sales, always on the lookout for a great bargain.
Dale's sense of humor and the kindness and generosity he expressed to all toward the end of his life will be sorely missed.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Martha Coogle; daughter, Virginia Sewell (Coogle); son, Robert Powell; stepdaughter, Sarah Pollard; granddaughter, Olivia Sewell; brother, Richard Coogle (Tami); sister, Linda Eizenstat; two nephews, Robbie and Brandon; and niece, Annie; four great-nephews and a great-niece; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 pm Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Dale's life will follow at 5pm at the funeral home.
