Brian Christopher Zipperle, 26, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on January 20, 2014. Chris was a member of St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, a 2005 graduate of St. Xavier High School in Louisville, and had attended Loyola University Chicago and Indiana University Southeast. Chris was always surrounded by many people, and possessed a rare talent of making them smile and feel good about themselves. To have known Chris personally was a special gift. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
Chris was born on January 22, 1987 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Brian and Robin (Waller) Zipperle. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorie and Katie Zipperle; brother, Nicholaus Waller (Shannon); nephew, Silas; grandparents, Betty (Vanover) Zipperle and Kenny Waller; aunts and uncles: Debbie and Kevin Zipperle, Kim and Tim Lane, Amber and Dwayne Waller, Valerie and Chris Pryor, and Lynette Angell; several great aunts and great uncles; and many dozens of extended cousins.
Visitation will be 12 to 8 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119). Burial will take place at a later date.
The recovery community in Louisville was especially important to Christopher. To that end, in lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Icehouse, 1400 South Shelby Street, Louisville, KY, 40204. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to our dear friend, Melanie, who helped Chris become happy and healthy; and also to Sydney who inspired Chris daily to be his best self.
