Brenda Joann (Tolbert) Ward

Brenda JoAnn (Tolbert) Ward, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020. She retired from New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. Brenda was an avid fan of IU Basketball and a member of the 40 & 8 Club in New Albany and also enjoyed playing pull tabs.
She was born on July 15, 1946, in Salem, Indiana, to the late Oliver and Audrey (Smith) Tolbert. Brenda was also preceded in death by her husband, David Alan Ward; and sister, Barbara Lewis.
Brenda is survived by her son, Jeff Marshall (Stephanie Day); grandson, Ethan Marshall; sister, Bonnie Disney (Mike); as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Blue River Cemetery in Pekin, Indiana.
