Brenda Sue Sweatt

Brenda S. Sweatt, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. Brenda enjoyed gardening and loved animals. She was known for being a wonderful cook and loved feeding others. She was a kind and helpful person to anyone in need.

She was born on May 22, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Thorthon and Mabel (Early) Smith. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Sweatt; sister, Barbara Powers; and brother, Charles Bennett.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Sullivan; grandchild, LaReonnia Sullivan; niece, LaQueisha (Joshua) Watkins; nephews, Eric and Sylvester Whiteside; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany.
