Bonita Brinly, 65 years old, of Louisville, Kentucky died on November 14th surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in 1959 to Robert (Bob) and Wanda Brinly. Bo attended St. Stephen Martyr elementary, Holy Rosary, and Durrett High Schools before receiving her culinary degree from Jefferson Community and Technical College. She put her culinary skills to good use in every aspect of catering, restaurant, and hospitality fields over her robust career in the food and beverage industry.
Bonita never met a stranger and was loved by all that she met in her personal and professional life, including her pets of which she had many. In fact, Mayor William B. Stansbury proclaimed Bodacious Bo Brinly Day recognizing her vivacious personality, warm hospitality, and positive impact on the city of Louisville. If there was a friend in need, Bo was a friend indeed. She was always quick to offer a helping hand, open her home, or make a seat at the table for anyone that had the good fortune to cross her path. She loved to travel, was a veracious reader, and enjoyed creating a memorable experience in the kitchen.
Bo was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Wanda Brinly. She is survived by her son, Zachary Aliberti (Liane); her sisters Bonnie Brinly, Barbara Wientjes, Betty Brinly, Belinda Rhodes (Carl), Beverly Peterson (Steve), and Beth Brinly; as well as dozens of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family is appreciative of the care provided by the staff at the Springs at Stony Brook which tended to her needs and let her bodacious spirit thrive until her peaceful passing.
A private memorial will be held. Please know that a celebration of life will be announced soon via phone calls and public posts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Healing Place or the Kentucky Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
