Bob Nally, 94, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, surrounded by his family at Enclave of Louisville East. He was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where he attended and graduated from duPont Manual High School. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church (SECC).
Bob spent his entire professional career working for the Mercantile chain of department stores. He rose from a stock clerk to general manager of several different Bacon's department stores in Louisville, Kentucky. He also spent several years as Group President for Hennessy's department stores in Montana.
In addition to his career with Mercantile, Bob was co-founder and president of K & N Rental properties, a real estate development company. He was also the first mayor of Middletown, Kentucky, and spent more than 20 years on the board of directors of El Presidente Condominiums in Siesta Key, Florida, many of those years as Board President.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Audra Ellen King "Bobbie" Nally. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Nally Whitaker; a son, Robert Kevin Nally (Diana Pacini); three grandsons, Robbie Whitaker (Jaime), Seth Whitaker (Erin), Brandon Nally; and six great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his youngest brother, Joseph "Mike" Nally (Marilyn), and three nieces.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive) on Friday, April 26 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 a.m. and at SECC's Chapel in the Woods (1407 Moser Rd) on Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 10:00 a.m.
