Bob Farris

Bob Farris , 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

He was born on January 17, 1946 in Estill County, Kentucky to the late Thomas Jefferson and Anna Evelyn (Crouch) Farris. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by first wife and mother of his children, Alverta Brandenburg Farris, his recent wife, Gerogetta Farris and his sister, Nancy Clay Farris Stansbury.

Bob is survived by his loving children, Jennifer (Rob) DeSpain, Robin Mae Farris and Thomas Clayton (Christy) Farris, grandchildren, Robert Thomas Farris, Julia Ainsley Farris Kalister, Robert Trenton DeSpain, Aiden Walker Farris and Elena Marie Thomas and his great grandson, Samson Thomas Farris.

Bob was a graduate of Estill City High School. After high school he went to work for the Rail Road for several years. He then went on to further his education; earning his degree in Education from Beth Haven Christian College and earning his Seminary Degree from Tennessee Temple University. Educating our youth was very important to him; he was a Substitute Teacher for our local Beth Haven Christian School and was a full time Teacher at Northside Christian School. After his retirement from education, Bob worked in Security for the Ford Motor Company, eventually retiring from there as well.

In Bob's free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing chess, reading, fishing and cooking. Bob was a great man with many accomplishments in his life; none was more important than raising his family and preparing them for their future. He will forever be known for his great sense of humor, always putting a smile on everyone's face and his generosity.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 19th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, May 20th at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East (11601 Ballardsville Rd).

The family requests that contributions in Bob's memory be made to the Billy Graham Foundation - Samaritan's Purse International Relief (PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 286607).
