Billy Joe Petty, 62, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
He was born on March 17, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Baz Petty and Caroline (Davis) Jones. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, David Petty and Nolan Petty.
Billy Joe was a hard working family man; you never saw him sitting unless he was watching the news. An Autobody Mechanic by trade; he was passionate about fixing cars. Billy enjoyed his Mountain Dews, camping and going to flea markets on the weekends. Most of all, his passion and his love was for his family; he loved spending time with them, especially with his grand babies. Billy touched so many lives in his short time on earth, his memory will forever be eternal through the legacy that will be carried on through those that know and loved him the most.
Billy would want everyone to remember the good times and times filled with laughter. DIG!
Billy Joe is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Cathy Petty, four children, twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his brother, Gary (Janice) Petty, and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss him very much.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 12th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 13th at the funeral home.
