Billy Wayne Fortner, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Billy was born on November 9, 1947. He is preceded in death by his father, Hubert Wayne Fortner, mother, Cloe Oliver Hollis, and siblings, Terry Fortner, Delores Fisher and Mary Fortner.
Billy is survived by his loving wife Mary Fortner, children, Doug Fortner, Gailyn (Kim) Fortner, Pauletta (Jay) Masterson, Joseph (Jennifer) Fortner Johnnie (Stephanie) Simpson, David Simpson, Brenda (Greg ) Garner, Mary (Jeff) Embry and Lee (Natalie) Owen, 9 grandkids, 9 great grandkids plus one on the way, and his siblings, Dennis Fortner, George Fortner, James Fortner, Barbara Patrick and Becky Thompson.
Billy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and being with his family. He will be truly missed be all who knew him and loved him.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 11th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home.
